Comment
Little seen outside Germany, this region produces mainly dry
wines, most notably from Silvaner, and also Riesling. These can be excellent,
firm wines. The Silvaners sometimes have an exotic opulence which makes them
quite unlike the bland versions from many other regions. Rieslaner dessert wines
can be very successful. Not always though are Franken wines worth their
generally high prices.
