Comment
Little known and thus often excellent value for money, this
region has some of Germanies finest Riesling producers - and some beautiful
scenery. Stylistically, as well as geographically, the region lies in between
MSR and the Rhein regions. Its varied geology makes into something of a
microcosmos of German wine whose finest examples combine racy fruitiness with an
almost spicy mineral complexity that is not found elsewhere in quite the same
way. Good dry wines are being made along the Nahe, yet like in MSR and the
Rheingau it's the sweeter Rieslings that reach the greatest hights. They can
compete with the best of those more famous regions.
